The following verses are only partial verses, meant to show the importance of the number seven in the Bible. Believe it or not, there are hundreds of references to the number seven that I did not use. Some seemed irrelevant (sometimes there may be coincidences), and other times, they were repetative (Passover is a seven day festival, and is mentioned numerous times).

Genesis 2:2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing

Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy

Genesis 4:15 if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over.

Genesis 7:2 Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal

Genesis 8:10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark

Genesis 21:28 Abraham set apart seven ewe lambs from the flock

Genesis 29:18 Jacob was in love with Rachel and said, “I’ll work for you seven years in return for your younger daughter Rachel.”

Genesis 33:3 He himself (Jacob) went on ahead and bowed down to the ground seven times as he approached his brother.

Genesis 41:2-7 (Pharaoh’s dreams interpreted by Joseph) “2 when out of the river there came up seven cows, sleek and fat, and they grazed among the reeds. 3 After them, seven other cows, ugly and gaunt, came up out of the Nile and stood beside those on the riverbank. 4 And the cows that were ugly and gaunt ate up the seven sleek, fat cows. Then Pharaoh woke up. 5 He fell asleep again and had a second dream: Seven heads of grain, healthy and good, were growing on a single stalk. 6 After them, seven other heads of grain sprouted—thin and scorched by the east wind. 7 The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven healthy, full heads. Then Pharaoh woke up; it had been a dream.

Genesis 50:10 Joseph observed a seven-day period of mourning for his father.

Exodus 7:25 Seven days passed after the LORD struck the Nile.

Exodus 12:15 For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast. On the first day remove the yeast from your houses, for whoever eats anything with yeast in it from the first day through the seventh must be cut off from Israel.

Exodus 16:26 Six days you are to gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.

Exodus 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.

Exodus 29:35 Do for Aaron and his sons everything I have commanded you, taking seven days to ordain them.

Exodus 29:37 For seven days make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. Then the altar will be most holy, and whatever touches it will be holy.

Leviticus 4:6 He is to dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle some of it seven times before the LORD, in front of the curtain of the sanctuary.

Leviticus 8:33 Do not leave the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for seven days, until the days of your ordination are completed, for your ordination will last seven days.

Leviticus 13:5 On the seventh day the priest is to examine him, and if he sees that the sore is unchanged and has not spread in the skin, he is to keep him in isolation another seven days.

Leviticus 14:16 dip his right forefinger into the oil in his palm, and with his finger sprinkle some of it before the LORD seven times.

Leviticus 16:19 He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times to cleanse it and to consecrate it from the uncleanness of the Israelites.

Leviticus 23:8 For seven days present an offering made to the LORD by fire. And on the seventh day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.

Numbers 23:29 Balaam said, “Build me seven altars here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me.”

Numbers 28:24 In this way prepare the food for the offering made by fire every day for seven days as an aroma pleasing to the LORD

Deuteronomy 15:1 At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts.

Deuteronomy 28:7 The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

Joshua 6:4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets.

Joshua 6:6 So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant of the LORD and have seven priests carry trumpets in front of it.”

1 Samuel 10:8 “Go down ahead of me to Gilgal. I will surely come down to you to sacrifice burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, but you must wait seven days until I come to you and tell you what you are to do.”

2 Kings 5:14 So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.

2 Chronicles 29:21 They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven male lambs and seven male goats as a sin offering for the kingdom

Proverbs 6:31 Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house.

Proverbs 9:1 Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out its seven pillars.

Isaiah 30:26 The moon will shine like the sun, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven full days, when the LORD binds up the bruises of his people and heals the wounds he inflicted.

Ezekiel 3:16 At the end of seven days the word of the LORD came to me

Ezekiel 43:25-26 25 For seven days you are to provide a male goat daily for a sin offering; you are also to provide a young bull and a ram from the flock, both without defect. 26 For seven days they are to make atonement for the altar and cleanse it; thus they will dedicate it.

Ezekiel 45:23 Every day during the seven days of the Feast he is to provide seven bulls and seven rams without defect as a burnt offering to the LORD, and a male goat for a sin offering.

Zechariah 4:10 “(These seven are the eyes of the LORD, which range throughout the earth.)”

Matthew 15:36-37 36 Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. 37 They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

Acts 6:3 Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them

Acts 13:19 he overthrew seven nations in Canaan and gave their land to his people as their inheritance.

Revelation 1:4 To the seven churches in the province of Asia

Revelation 1:5 Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

Revelation 1:12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands

Revelation 1:16 In his right hand he held seven stars

Revelation 5:6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

Revelation 8:2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets.

Revelation 15:1 I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues—last, because with them God’s wrath is completed.

Revelation 15:7 Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath of God, who lives for ever and ever.
